However, unlike booth spray tanning, our tans are hand-sprayed by a professional artist, allowing for better control and better results. Each color is customized to your skin tone and desired shade, creating a beautiful, even, radiant, complexion that acts as an instant confidence boost!

Spray tans typically takes 24 hours to develop fully and results in a natural-looking tan lasting up to 10 days.

Derived from sugar cane, DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient in spray tanning formulas. It interacts with the amino acids in the skin's top layer to create a tan. While DHA is non-toxic, the FDA still recommends avoiding inhaling or ingesting DHA. That's why Beach Bungalow has invested extensively in a double ventilation system, which effectively removes spray particles from the room. Additionally, we can provide you with a paper mask. Chapstick to protect your lips can be purchased at the front desk.

There is no such thing as a fully organic spray tanning formula - any claim otherwise is inaccurate. While our spray tan solutions include organic ingredients, no formula can be entirely organic because of the presence of Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), the active tanning component.

It's completely understandable and normal to feel nervous about your first spray tan. Vonnell has been spray tanning for over 15 years and has worked with all body types, including those overcoming challenges like disabilities and injuries. All that matters to us is that when you walk out, you feel beautiful inside and out. Vonnell always says "whatever she sees, goes in one eye and out the other" and "what happens in the Bungalow, stays in the Bungalow!"

Feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable during your appointment, whether it's full coverage or minimal attire. We also provide a series of paper products. Our focus is on making your experience enjoyable and for you to walk out feeling amazing. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign required waivers and provide consent for any treatments or services offered.

Each appointment typically takes around 30 minutes. The application process takes about 20 minutes, and the remaining time is for prep and finishing touches. If you wish to browse our beautiful boutique, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early, as you will not be able to try on anything after your tan.

The average Beach Bungalow spray tan lasts 5-10 days, depending on the product used (we will go over this at your appointment), how your skin is prepped, and any aftercare. What is your cancellation policy?

What should I wear to my spray tanning session?

Accepted Answer

For your spray tan, we offer disposable paper products to wear. Women have the option to go au naturel; however, minors must have consent from their parents and wear all provided paper products unless a parent is present. You may also wear an item of your choice, but please be aware that whatever you wear will leave tan lines and may be damaged. Due to the sensitive nature of this service, men will be required to wear underwear, a bathing suit, or a disposable paper brief that we will provide.

For after your tan, please bring loose, dark clothing and flip flops if possible. Keep in mind whatever you wear has the possibility of getting stained from the bronzer.

Will the tan rub off on my clothing?

Accepted Answer

Tanning solutions are clear but contain bronzers which act as a guide and rinse off with your first shower. These bronzers are water-soluble and will wash out of most fabrics except silk, nylon, and leather. If your car's leather seats are light-colored, consider bringing a towel to protect them. After your first shower, your spray tan will not stain your clothes.

Yes, we do! At your appointment, the spray tan artist will go over what you are looking for and what will look best on your skin so you can achieve your desired results. The artist customizes each color on an individual basis.

How soon can I shower and workout after my session?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the type of tan you do, you can shower anywhere from 2 hours to overnight after your appointment. You are able to choose between our Signature and Express formulas. At your appointment, your spray tan artist will provide you with a specific timeframe based on the product used and your desired results.

You will want to wait to workout until after your first shower to avoid sweating off the bronzer - which is the cosmetic part of your tan. However, we highly recommend waiting 24 hours before wearing tight clothing and engaging in activities that cause sweating, as these things have the potential to leave imprints or cause a streaky tan while the tan is still developing.

Absolutely not. We wouldn't be in business if you did! We exclusively use top-quality solutions and each tan is customized to your skin tone. Absolutely! There are many benefits to spray tanning darker skin tones. Advantages include evening out the skin tone to a uniform color, adding a subtle undertone, or adding a radiant glow to the skin. Typically, you also have a wider range of color options, and your tan will fade more evenly.

Can I get a spray tan if I'm pregnant?

Our master artist is happy to spray women after their first trimester; however, it's always best to check with your healthcare provider. If you wish to get sprayed during your first trimester, you must obtain doctor's approval. DHA is FDA-approved for cosmetic use and is considered non-toxic. Additionally, we have a state-of-the-art double ventilation system to remove spray particles from the air, and we are happy to offer you a mask during your session. You should always take the precautions you feel comfortable with.

Can I get a spray tan if I have skin conditions or allergies?

If you have sensitive skin or allergies to sunless tanning products containing DHA, or if you are unsure whether you are allergic to it, contact your physician prior to tanning. Allergic reactions are extremely rare, but possible. If you are concerned, please consult your technician for a patch test.

Just as dark spots get darker with the natural sun, they will get darker with a spray tan. However, we will assist you in covering any dark spots (within reason) with a barrier to ensure they blend nicely with the rest of your skin.
